Rebuild Maui Wave Riders: Kyle
If you’ve taken a surf lesson during your Maui vacation, chances are you took it through the Maui Wave Riders school in Lahaina. It was almost impossible to walk down Front Street and not spot someone wearing an infamous “MWR” hat. Kyle Juk is the owner of Maui Wave Riders and has been providing a safe way to learn how to catch waves and have respect for the ocean for decades. He has met and worked with people from all over the world and had so much fun turning kids on to the joys of surfing.
While Kyle and his employees thankfully had the foresight to leave Lahaina earlier due to the bad weather, the Maui Wave Riders location has been burned to the ground. Kyle lost his business, and most of the surf instructors lost not just their homes and cars, but lost this special place of employment.
Kyle has the resilience to rebuild and start again in time. However, right now, he will use any donations to provide relief to his friends and family who have young children and need help meeting their most basic needs.
