Akoni: For the Islands

If you have ever vacationed on the West Side of Maui and had dinner in the Kaanapali or Kapalua areas there is a good chance you have been serenaded over dinner by local artist Akoni. Born and raised in upcountry Makawao, Akoni fled his home in Lahaina and is currently sheltered with his wife and one year-old son in Napili. On top of losing everything, Akoni will be out of work along with his wife who’s veterinary practice burned down.
