Support Maui Wave Riders: Marc
As a result of these fires, Marc has lost his home, all of his belongings and his place of work. We are beyond grateful that he and his dogs Koa and Lucy have made it out safely, and we want nothing more than the smoothest transition possible for them in the months moving forward.
It would be an understatement to say that Marc absolutely loved living on Maui. Riding waves (every chance he could get), playing on the beach with his dogs, watching sunsets with friends, and spending nights camped under the stars, Marc has truly made a home in Lahaina. And his home is filled with friends who became and will always be family- his ʻohana. Thus, we know that leaving the islands has been a difficult and absolutely heart-breaking decision for him.
Let’s help Marc, Koa and Lucy to move through this challenging time with as much ease as possible. Marc has just arrived on the mainland and will be staying with friends and family for a short bit. During that time, it is our goal to raise enough money for Marc to be able to relocate, acquire housing for himself and the girls in the location of their desire and purchase new wheels to get around.
Any donations made in excess of his needs will be donated (by Marc) directly to organizations and people in need in the Lahaina community.
Many mahalos in advance to all donors for helping to provide comfort, uplift his spirits and ensure Marc has the resources he needs to navigate more easily through these choppy waters. We know this will mean the world to him and that there are clear skies and sunny days ahead.
